Custom Fields
Custom Fields is where you extend OSOSS records with data the standard forms do not carry - a "material" on products, a "delivery landmark" on customer addresses, a "cost centre note" on purchase invoices - and decide, channel by channel, where that field is visible and where it is mandatory. Because OSOSS also exposes custom fields as list columns and filters, a field you add here becomes a reporting dimension for free.

How custom fields work in OSOSS
A field is defined by three decisions: which section of the system it attaches to, what type of input it is, and where it is visible and required.
The section is the record the field lives on. There are nine:
| Section | Attaches to |
|---|---|
| Customer address | Every address a customer has, on every channel |
| Customer info | The customer record itself |
| Product | Products, with optional conditions |
| Invoice item | A single line on a POS checkout |
| Sales invoice | Sales invoices and their prints |
| Estimate | Quotations |
| Purchase invoice | Vendor bills |
| Note | Notes on almost every sales, purchase and POS document |
| Gift | The gift options block at checkout |
The type controls the input. Text offers a single-line Field or a multi-line Area; the select family gives Dropdown, Radio button, Checkbox and Multiple select, each with a value list you maintain on the field itself; the date family gives Date, Date-time and Time; and there is File, Phone, Map, plus Countries, Cities and Areas pickers that read from Locations.
Visibility is the part that makes this page powerful. Instead of one on/off switch, each field gets a matrix of Visibility and Required toggles across the places the section can appear - for customer sections that means the dashboard profile plus the registration page and checkout of POS, the website, the mobile app and the call centre; for invoices it means the dashboard documents plus POS checkout; for products it means POS, website, mobile app and call centre. Documents also carry an admin only and a print target, so you can collect a value internally without ever printing it.
The list marks each row Custom or System. System fields are the built-in ones such as country, city and area that you may re-target but not remove.
Create a custom field
- Click Create and pick the Section first. Everything else adapts to it.
- Enter the Input name - English only, no spaces. This is the technical key, and it is the one thing you should not change later.
- Write the Label (and Title and hint if you use them), switching on localization to enter both languages.
- Choose the Type, and for a select-family type add its values in the order you want them shown.
- Set the Sort order, which decides the field's position on the form.
- Open the visibility matrix and switch on Visibility for each channel that should show it, then switch on Required only where a value is genuinely mandatory.
- For a product field, optionally add Conditions so the field appears only for certain shipping methods or payment gateways.
- Save. The field is live on those channels immediately.
Rules that surprise people
Required cannot be switched on where Visibility is off - OSOSS clears it for you, because a hidden mandatory field would block checkout with no way to satisfy it. The print target can be visible but never required. On non-customer sections, admin only and all products are mutually exclusive. And if shipping is enabled for a channel, the country, city and area fields are locked for that channel's checkout, because shipping needs them.

Standard list tools
Every list page in OSOSS shares these controls:
- Manage columns - the icon at the right edge of the header row: search columns, tick to show or hide, drag to reorder. Your selection persists for your user.
- Quick search - matches the page's primary field.
- Filter chips + More Filters - the chips are your defaults; More Filters exposes the full set below.
- Save Filter / Saved Filters - name a filter combination and recall it in one click; one can be your default view.
- Reset - clears filters back to defaults.
- Export All - downloads the current filtered rows with exactly the columns you have selected.
- Focus - hides the surrounding chrome for a full-width table.
- Row selection - the header checkbox selects the page or all matching rows, enabling bulk actions.
- Rows per page and page jumper - at the foot of the table.
- Custom fields - anything you define under Settings > Custom Fields appears here as both a column and a filter.

What you can do on this page
Every action on this page, step by step. What you see depends on your role, so a control your account is not set up for simply does not appear.
Export the list
- Filter and choose your columns first - the export mirrors exactly what is on screen, not the whole table.
- Click Export All.
- The file downloads as a spreadsheet: one row per record, your visible columns in your order.
