Product Selling Pricing

Product Selling Pricing is where one product gets more than one price. A price here is a rule: this product, in this branch, on this channel, for this customer group, in this currency, at this quantity, costs this much.

The dimensions of a price rule

FieldWhat it varies the price by
Product and barcodeThe item, including a specific variant by barcode
PriceThe amount charged
Discount and discount typeA reduction, as a percentage or a fixed amount
QuantityThe threshold at which this price applies - the basis of tiered and wholesale pricing
UnitThe unit the price is per, so a carton price differs from a piece price
BranchOne location's pricing
PlatformWebsite, mobile app or POS
Customer groupRetail, wholesale, staff, VIP
CurrencyThe currency the rule applies in

Together these cover the pricing situations businesses actually have: a wholesale customer group paying less per carton, a delivery channel priced above the counter to cover the courier, a branch in a mall carrying higher rent, a foreign-currency price that is a round number rather than a conversion.

Add a pricing rule

  1. Choose the Product, or a specific variant by barcode.
  2. Set the Price, or leave price alone and set a Discount with its type if the rule is a reduction from the standard price.
  3. Set the Quantity threshold for a tiered price - the price that applies from that quantity upward.
  4. Narrow the rule with branch, platform, customer group and currency only where it genuinely differs.
  5. Save, then verify by opening the product on that channel as that customer group would see it.
Note: Rules layer. A product can have a base price, a customer-group price and a channel price at once, so before adding a fourth rule, check what already applies - unexpected pricing is almost always two rules both being correct.
Tip: Price the delivery channel to cover delivery. Businesses that keep one price everywhere and absorb courier cost usually discover the delivery channel is their least profitable, long after the volume has grown.
Warning: Discounts stack with promotions. A customer-group discount here plus an active cart rule can go below cost, so check the margin on a test order before you launch a campaign.

What you can do on this page

Every action on this page, step by step. What you see depends on your role, so a control your account is not set up for simply does not appear.

Add a record

  1. Click Add above the table - some pages label it New or show a + icon.
  2. Complete the form. Required fields carry a red asterisk and the form will not submit until they are filled.
  3. Click Save. Validation runs on submit; any field that fails shows its message directly beneath itself, and the form scrolls to the first problem.
  4. You land back on the list with the new record in place.

Fields on this form: Barcode, Branch ID, Currency ID, Customer group ID, Discount, Discount type, Platform, Price, Product ID, Quantity, Unit ID

Searchable dropdowns (customer, product, account, branch...) read live data - start typing to filter rather than scrolling. Most also let you create the missing record inline so you don't lose the form you are in.

Edit a record

  1. Open the row's actions menu at the end of the row and choose Edit, or open the record and use Edit there.
  2. The form loads with current values. Change only what you need.
  3. Click Save.
Documents that are already posted to accounting, paid, or fulfilled lock the fields that would change history. That is deliberate - issue a refund, a credit note, or an adjustment instead of rewriting the original.

Delete a record

  1. Open the row's actions menu and choose Delete.
  2. Confirm in the dialog. There is no undo from the interface.
  3. If the record is referenced elsewhere - used on a document, tied to a transaction - the delete is refused and the reason shown.
When a record is refused, or when it may come back into use later, deactivate it instead of deleting. It disappears from selection lists while every document that already used it keeps reading correctly.

Actions on a single record

These appear in the row's actions menu and on the record page, and only when the record's current state allows them:

Export the list

  1. Filter and choose your columns first - the export mirrors exactly what is on screen, not the whole table.
  2. Click Export All.
  3. The file downloads as a spreadsheet: one row per record, your visible columns in your order.
