Domain

Domain is where your storefront gets your own address - shop.yourcompany.com or yourbrand.com instead of the default OSOSS address. It is a small page with a large effect on how established your shop looks.

The last row is the one to weigh. Search ranking, backlinks and customer memory attach to whatever address you advertise. Building all of that on a default address and moving later means starting most of it again.

Connect a domain

  1. Register the domain, or identify the one you already own.
  2. Decide the exact address customers should use. Pick one and stay with it - advertising two addresses splits your ranking and confuses returning customers.
  3. Enter it on this page for your store.
  4. Update the DNS records at whoever manages your domain so the address points at your OSOSS store. This step happens in your domain provider's control panel, not here.
  5. Wait for DNS to propagate - usually minutes, occasionally hours - then open the address from a device that has never visited your shop.
  6. Confirm the secure padlock appears before you advertise the address anywhere.
Warning: Do not print the address on packaging, cards or signage until you have loaded it successfully yourself. A printed address that does not resolve is expensive to correct.
Note: DNS changes are made with your domain provider, not in OSOSS. If the address does not resolve after a few hours, the records are the place to look - and your provider's support is the fastest route to fixing them.
Tip: Set up redirects for the addresses you are leaving behind, so old links keep working - see Rewrite URL. Links in old emails, printed material and other people's websites outlive every migration.

What you can do on this page

Every action on this page, step by step. What you see depends on your role, so a control your account is not set up for simply does not appear.

Export the list

  1. Filter and choose your columns first - the export mirrors exactly what is on screen, not the whole table.
  2. Click Export All.
  3. The file downloads as a spreadsheet: one row per record, your visible columns in your order.
